Pornography

We live in country that is obsessed with porn. What was once labeled pornography is now labeled "soft porn" such as playboy. Nothing is exempt when it comes to porn. Commercials, movies, sitcoms, porn is everywhere. Our society has become desensitized to seeing naked men and women on screen, billboards or in music videos. Sex sells! You will rarely if ever find a commercial selling a product for men that does not involve women dressed in short, revealing outfits, eager to please a man. Muslims are not exempt. I recently found out that one of the kids i work with(yes kid) has been using his parents computer to look up porn. And not just any porn, he was looking up kid porn, gay porn, you name it. You can imagine how uncomfortable it was for me to bring this to the mothers attention and show her what her son has been up to! Even more embarrassing is that his sister who is younger than him stumbled upon the websites while we were working on a research paper!
Muslims are not exempt from pornography, there are a lot of men and children who are discovering porn from their fathers or friends at school. The family i work for is a very religious family so you can imagine the shock of discovering that their child was engaging in such disturbing activities!
There is nothing worse than a muslim man dressed islamically, displaying his long beard and preaching about islam who secretly engages in porn and meets with women for sex! I want to encourage all women to check the history of your husbands and kids computer daily! Especially if you have kids and they use the Internet you need to be monitoring them anytime they use the computer. Never put a computer in a childs room! The computer should be in a public place. Kids are smart! They know how to get past all the parent locks on the computer and access websites. That means you should be in the room with the child when they are on the computer. If they dont like it, too bad. You are the parent, dont let them control you!
As for married women, if your husband uses the computer frequently its a good idea to search his history and see what hes been up to! You should also have access to his emails. There should be no secrets in a marriage. And sadly a lot of men cheat using the Internet by writing emails to other women or going onto chat rooms to meet them. Be cautious if your husband is engaging in chat rooms or being secretive when it comes to his email!
Porn is very harmful to those who watch it! It desensitizes men and when they engage in sexual acts with their wives they imitate the porn stars and lack passion and empathy. The woman becomes nothing more than an object to them....

subhanAllah access to this stuff is way too easy, its so disgusting. Even when I was in Middle school a kid knew how to access porn sites the school blocked, and on top of that saved all these images and somehow got it on the backgrounds of all the schools computers! Parents and wives trust their husbands and kids on the computer WAY too much. You think you know someone but subhanAllah you really really don't and anyone who plays that 'NOT NOT IN MY FAMILY' crap is being naive. We don't have that control over things, we really wish we did.. but it's so easy for a person to fall. I see nothing wrong with monitoring your family members on the computer.

Assalamu Alaikum Sis!!! As I agree with the post but there is one thing that I would caution the married sisters on and that's being too snoopy into your husbands business and then getting caught. There is nothing wrong with having access to the information or history but use that wisly because if you go behind you husbands back and do these things without having an open communication about it, you are more likely to hurt your married then to have that trust between the two because he will THINK that you are not trusting him and that is the worst mistake anyone could make in married. Plus, are you just snooping in his or are you trusting him with your information as well? Women are JUST as bad sometimes with these issues. It goes two ways. Before I married Mr. Desert, he was very open to discussing about his past, provided me with all of his e-mail accounts and if I ever had a question about something he had an answer, Mash'Allah. But I did the same for him and believe me the trust we have leaves no line for questioning. And don't just go out there and mistrust your husband because he spends a lot of time on the computer, have that open communication line of trust between the both of you, offer your accounts and work towards getting his. Trust is a major part of marriage, if he doesn't give up the information after talking about it THEN get an Imam involved or someone that you can have mediate the conversation between the two. Now In the sense of children, you should always have control over that, but equally as husband and wife too. Don't just let everything rest on your shoulders as again marriage is a duel relationship make sure that your husband knows what's going on and invest into programs that you can buy online that STOP such issues from happening. Beware of public and private library cards as well, it's scary what they can get at the library, put a restriction on that as well if you can. Remember that working together in a marriage is always better then working against the other. And always Allahu Alim :o)

Desert-Veil has a point. I didn't come to mind until she said it and I don't want people to think I feel it's okay to be snoopy. Snooping is not the best policy at all.

I just wonder to what extent can human beings get interested in sex commercials. What I know that we get used to the stuff we see everyday, and since everything is getting more and more into porn, I think one day sex won't sell coz it is literally everywhere!

Mutual understanding is paramount for any relationship. Foster it as much as you could.

Btw I might want to draw you attention that history can be erase. It's so simple. So much for the checking really.

And for those who's know a bit about the techical part, it mean the data permanetly deleted, even the military grade detection techinique render useless.
